I create paintings on glazed porcelain. So I buy white porcelain and then I draw my designs on this surface. The paint comes in powder form, ready to be mixed with a medium. Different mediums are used for different techniques. The item is fired at temperatures of at least 750 and above in a kiln. Depending on the piece, there may be several firings each time, adding colour and depth to the painting.Once the porcelain is fired, the colours are fixed. Thus, the colours cannot be lightened or altered after firing.
